Comparison of battery companies – Amara Raja vs Exide

I have made a comparison of the top battery companies in India to identify which one is a better investment. The top 2 players in India’s battery market are Exide industries and Amara Raja industries. Below is a comparison of both the companies. The cells highlighted in yellow suggest that the company is better than the other in that parameter.

As can be seen, in most parameters Amara Raja batteries scores over Exide industries and hence is a better investment. Though the difference in most parameters except profit margins is not extremely significant. Also in terms of PE ratios, Amara Raja batteries is not very expensive as compared to Exide. So you get a better balance sheet and performing company at almost the same price (PE ratio) and hence would be better to invest in Amara Raja batteries.

If you like the above comparison of the top battery companies in India, you may also like to check out my comparison on other sectors  as well.
